Do two-step verification via text message or voice call
This is one of the easiest ways to set up 2-step verification on your Google Account where you first decide whether you want to use the text message or voice call option. How to set up 2-Step Verification in Gmail
1: Go to Google’s “My Account or Manage your Google Account” page, which you’ll find in the upper-right side of the screen.
2: Click on Security. It lives on the left side of the page. (Google 2-Step Verification)
3: Now scroll down and click on 2-Step Verification. You will see the option under “Signing in to Google” on the right side of the page.

4: Next you get a new page on which GET STARTED option is available, it is a blue button in the lower right corner of the page, and click on it.
5: Enter your Google Account password. This step requires you to confirm your identity with Google before continuing. If you signed in to the wrong account, sign in with a different account.
6: In the next step click on Next. Doing so will verify your identity and take you to the next page.
7: On clicking next, your 2-step verification process starts which is completed in three steps. In the first step, you have to enter your phone number. “What phone number do you want to use?” Type that number in the space provided.
Also on this page, you have to click on a code option. You can select the text message option to receive the code as a text message. Or You can click on the Phone call option to receive an audio recording of the code.
8: Click Next. It happens in the lower right corner of the screen. By doing this Google will send you a code on your given phone number according to your selected option above.
9: When you receive a code from Google on your number via a phone call or text message, you type in your code. This will be the second step of this process.
10: Now click on Next, which is in the lower right corner of the page.
11: As soon as you click on the Next button, the third step comes in which you have to click on Turn On, which appears in the blue color letter. Clicking this will enable 2-Step Verification for your Google Account.
Thus whenever you log in to a new device, you will be asked to enter a code that is delivered to your phone.
