Roles and Responsibilities of Safety Manager: Safety managers are tasked with improving the health, safety & environmental aspects of any project. It is common for these professionals to work in an industrial environment where there is a daily risk of injury, but it is possible for them to work in any field. They monitor operations to identify insecure aspects, make changes, and develop new safety policies. They ensure business compliance with mandatory safety policies.

The safety manager will analytical with problem-solving skills and pay close attention to small details. All of these features enable them to effectively carry out the responsibilities of the safety manager.

Safety Manager / HSE Manager Purpose

  • Ensure that all the construction activities are in accordance with the HSE Site Operational Manual.
  •  To submit reports required by the OHS Department in accordance with the OHSAS 18001:2007.
  • To coordinate with Consultant/Engineer with regards to safety issues.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for the project’s OH&S implementation in accordance with OHSAS 18001:2007.

Liaise with OHS Manager, Project Director, Project Manager, and other concerned parties in the implementation of OH&S Management System and issues safety directives accordingly.

Monitors, reviews and advises the Safety In-charge on OH&S policies implementation and results of the OH&S audits.

Makes sure OH&S roles, responsibilities, policies, plans, and objectives are communicated to all relevant personnel.

Monitors OH&S training requirements of personnel and coordinates in arranging internal and external training.

HSE Manager Job Descriptions

Responsible for carrying out and ensuring the implementation of OH&S Management System Procedures all throughout the construction operations.

Review and check the risk assessment and submit it to the OHS Manager for finalization.

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the corrective/preventive action system throughout the project.

Make sure that all relevant OH&S Documents are reviewed and updated.

Make sure that Emergency Response & Procedures are communicated and necessary Mock drills are conducted.

Ability to implement safety standards in coordination with the relevant construction personnel.

Ability to generate documents required by the OHS Department and the PMT.
